[] Senior Year Course Load: AP Psychology, AP English Literature, AP Human Geography, Introduction to Engineering, Honors Chambers Chorus, Honors Calculus w/ Applications (1 semester), Sociology (1 Semester), Internship (second semester-- second half of the day).
[li] How were your essays? Rate out of 10: 9 for Common App essay. For the supplements, I’d say a 7 or so. I feel as though they weren’t witty enough or creative like many of the accepted students.[/li]
[/ul]Other[ul]
[] Extracurriculars: Eagle Scout (I’m also the Troop’s Librarian), Vice President of Spanish Honor Society, Secretary and Peer Buddy for Best Buddies (club that works with students who have intellectual/developmental disabilities), Historian for Model United Nations-- won Outstanding Delegate Award at the Spring County Conference, Assistant Counselor for Summer Camp, and I have a job as a tutor for a local education service.
[] Community Service: I have 649.5 SSL hours (above the 75 that students need to graduate). I’ve done volunteer work at a summer camp, at a local middle school where I was the Assistant Director for 2 or 3 of their school plays, at a lot of Boy Scout events, etc.
[] School Type: Public
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: Male
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): N/A.
[li] Living on-campus? Yes (if I got in and attended).[/li]
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Extracurriculars and essays maybe.
[] Weaknesses: my GPA and test scores definitely. My supplement more than likely. And I didn’t do an interview, I had no idea it was so highly emphasized
[/ul]General Comments/Additional Information:[list]
I tried so hard but I always knew it was a reach. I did the best I could, and that’s all anyone can really do. Congratulations to all the accepted students! You all deserve it and for the denied students like myself, don’t worry. Everything happens for a reason, and we are going to love wherever we end up next year. Even if it’s not Wake Forest, it’ll still be an amazing place that we wouldn’t want to trade for any other school. Stay optimistic
Accepted here in Rhode Island- SAT 2240.
Accepted from FL! 28 ACT, 4.2 WGPA (3.99 UW). My interview went really well, so I think that helped a lot
DS accepted in PA. 3.4 GPA (UW), SAT optional. Had a great interview and a strong essay. His short answers were definitely not typical responses and I think all those things were in his favor. Definitely his reach school.
Waitlisted and sad as this was a top choice school.
3.9 UW GPA/ 4.6 weighted - Top 5%
34 ACT
Multiple Major Awards (Both Sports & Academic)
Varsity Sports & Tri Captain
Lots of EC with leadership roles
Distinct Volunteer throughout all 4 years
Amazing Recommendations
Perhaps not enough demonstrated interest?
What do acceptance vs rejection vs waitlist letters look the same? All white envelopes or are they different?
Acceptance was a large black envelope. We could see “congratulatioms, welcome to…” through the envelope address window, so not a suprise to open it.
