Does anyone have any information about WFU acting program? I get the feeling it is very small and opportunities are limited. WFU made a great impression on visit day and has been persistent pursuing my S but we have never been able to witness or talk to the drama dept. Any info from a former or current student would be appreciated.
I don’t know about Wake Forest other than it is a BA and that may mean more of a general theater studies degree (but I really don’t know). It is in Winston Salem which is also where UNCSA is (my D goes to UNCSA). Winston is a fun little town and very “artsy” – lots of theater/art/music events happening in the town - some tied to UNCSA. Also lots of shops, restaurants, history, etc, in town.
I know Wake Forest attends the national thescon (or used to) - so they obviously are recruiting for their drama program. Worth explorinig. It is a beautiful campus in a nice area of town and has a good overall reputation.
Let us know if you find more out!
@bfahopeful it is the BA Theater major. And, yes, my S was approached at the National ITS in Nebraska two years ago. We visited early Junior year; however, S was planning to major music at the time. He still loves music but can’t get enough drama. While there are awesome acting schools out, he didn’t want to exclude WFU (for the academics). Thanks for the info.
