@Amamaof5 – Wow! – I am really surprised given your son’s fantastic stats and level of interest…
My S was also waitlisted. SAT 1510 (one sitting 790 M/720 R), GPA 4.6W/3.5UW, lots of APs (4’s and 5’s), flew in for an interview, etc. We are full pay, although I have no idea if that impacts WL decisions.
Good luck to everyone hoping for a spot - keep us updated!
I think that anyone who considers Wake Forest a “safety” school is misinformed. I have a daughter who will be a senior at Wake and a daughter who will be a freshman. They both had 4.0 UW GPA’s and ACT’s >33. They were All State tennis players (but no where good enough to play at WF). It is a highly competitive and excellent school. For NARP’s (non athletic regular person), the admission criteria are difficult. They fill half of there class with ED. All of my daughter’s fellow classmates were very high achievers in high school. In sum, considering Wake a sure shot shows hubris and to those who do lesson learned.
Go Deacs!
@newdeac1@cltrising oops, I meant to say match school. I think financial aid hurt me a bit because i would have needed significant aid and i have heard that they are need aware in the admissions process? So I don’t think I will get off the waitlist if other people are full pay and it’s non ranked, no matter how hard I try.
@senya274 it’s non ranked, but I need significant financial aid, so I doubt I’ll get it because of that fact and they said they don’t know how much aid they have to offer if any at all, I emailed.
Do we think less people will enroll that were already accepted due to Covid? Don’t think they accepted anyone from waitlist last year and hoping it is different this year.
They did accept people from the waitlist last year, even up to two weeks before classes started, my DD knows people personally that got off the waitlist.
@20gfitzgerald I have not, although I was told to send reommendations, etc. to add to my file. That’s all I know, I was unaware there was a webinar. I’ll tag you if anybody says anything!
