Wake Forest, William and Mary, or Lehigh?

I am trying to decide if I should attend Wake Forest, William and Mary, or Lehigh. Which school has the best academic prestige?

What major?

The are all peer schools in general but Lehigh is a very good engineering and science school. Lehigh’s alumni network is extremely solid.

Are you instate VA?

What are the costs for each? What do you want to study?

costs? major? what do you want out of college?

Are you going to accepted students day? that will solidify your decision

Do you really care what some poster hear would tell you choose?

I am out of state so costs are very similar and I will most likely major in marketing or another sort of business major.

They are all a little different. Why not just pick the one you think you will enjoy the most, is less expensive or more convenient, etc? You can get a fantastic experience at each of these school but they each have a slightly different personality.

Go to Lehigh. It has incredible flexibility so if you want to switch your major to business or engineering you can! When your in at Lehigh, they don’t restrict you from moving between colleges. When your at Wake Forest trying to get into the business school there is a good chance you won’t make it. I’m not to sure about William and Mary but Lehigh has a huge variety of things to choose from. William and Mary really doesn’t. As for social life, Lehigh and Wake are pretty similar. William and Mary is pretty dead. Unless you really feel at home somewhere besides Lehigh, I see Lehigh as the clear winner here.

If you’re looking solely for academic prestige i’d probably go with William and Mary. In NOVA (where all those lucrative government contracting jobs are) and the surrounding area you might as well say you go to Oxford.

Congrats. 3 excellent choices. Agree with @OnTheBubble that they are all peer schools, with W&M having the slight edge in the prestige factor. You really should delve into the core requirements of your major at all 3 and see what is most appealing. Or you can choose base on weather or a coin flip. They will have more similarities than differences

  1. W&M 2. Wake Forest 3. Lehigh on academics

Without knowing your major, interests or personality, it is difficult to give a meaningful response. They are all good schools.

Lehigh has the best flexibility and career outcomes, and may be slightly less rigorous. I would choose Lehigh personally, then W&M, then Wake. jmho

I have only been to w&m and wake and I say w&m has just as good a social life as wake. I think academics are equal but if I was choosing I would take w&m

While not conclusive it is certainly indicative:

Lehigh, Payscale rank #35
W&M, #91
Wake, #122
