Hey, I'm applying ED to Cornell Engineering School (civil). I just wanna know if the colleges want to know whether I'm good at art or not. I listed all the art awards I've won since freshmen year (Scholastic Art & Writing and others) and most of my awards except few are art-related. Maybe two or three are science and math related.

Well, I'm waiting for the result to come out this wednesday, but if I don't get in or deferred, I want to know what I should do for the RD schools.

Being good at art shows you have good visualization ability, which is very important for many kinds of engineering. I would definitely mention it.

wow Chanyxp, u earlier posted that we had much in common.
haha, HILARIOUS! I too, was wondering if I should sent art supplements in, as I was planning to for UPenn.
I am more into creative photography, though I have always considered myself somewhat of an artist.

dude that is cool! But I'm more into painting and sketching. However, I believe all artists have advantage when it comes to engineering. Like tokenadult said, being good at art shows you ahve good visualization ability. So I discovered I had somewhat talents in art and science & math, but I didn't know what to make out of those talents. Before the senior year, I decided to pursue civil engineering, which I thought nicely combined those two areas. My supplement essay for the cornell talks about it. But now I was wondering if sending in the art supplements would benefit me. But I hope I get in!! Good luck to you too!
