Want to become an RN - Does my incomplete UCSD Undergrad GPA carry over to CCC?

From the sounds of it you are planning on taking the prerequisites to apply to a BSN nursing program at a CCC, then apply. That may not be the best path because no matter how good you do at the CCC your overall gpa is from all college classes you’ve taken anywhere and admission to BSN programs is very competitive.

Instead I suggest you investigate getting an RN at a community college (an ADN degree) and then go to one of the RN->BSN programs. See https://www.nursingexplorer.com/adn/california for ADN programs. The bar to get into an ADN program is much lower. Look for a good NCLEX pass rate at the CC. RN->BSN programs tend to much be easier to get into than direct-admit or nursing from pre-nursing BSN programs. See http://www.rn.ca.gov/education/rntobsn.shtml for a list of CA programs. Many are part-time and/or online, but some are campus based such as at Fullerton. I know nurses that have done this route. You could also do this in another state.

A couple of advantages here. First, you are employable after 2 years with an RN degree, although its a good idea to eventually get a BSN. You have the choice of starting work at that point and doing the BSN part-time over a few years, or going on to complete it quicker thru a fulltime RN->BSN program. 2 years after you start a CCC you have bleak job prospects if you don’t get into a BSN program under your current plan.
