Want to feel good about yourself?

Well then why don't you read my transcript?????
:) JK, it's not that bad, well it's pretty bad... I would be very much indebted to all of you if you chanced me. I promise I'll chance you back (just please include the link at the bottom of your message).
So I have a 3.5 GPA unweighted(I know, pretty awful by CC standards, but I go to a VERY competitive high school. We're the best in the state. Though, this is Rhode Island, so take that as you will).
I do have 4 C+s. They come exclusively from math and physics classes. If that means anything...I'm a solid B-/C+ student in math. But, that's my one flaw. Everything else is great. As in I get As in History and English.
So I took two APs last year (APUSH and APGOV) and got 5s on both. This ammount is normal for junior year at my school. We're strongly discouraged from taking more.
This year I'm taking three (WHAP, APBio, APE) and I'm doing well in them.
My sat scores are as follows:
M 650, W 690, CR 760
SATII: 800 US, 730 Lit
ECs: Editor in chief of the literary magazine, Student council member, debate team member (I win awards and such in this), Mock Trial (captian), and over 300 hours of volunteering at two really cool places. I work with refugees and at a local children's museum.
My recs are going to be great! And my essay will be good. Maybe not fantastic, but good.
My schools are deep breath: Barnard, Brandeis, Hamilton, Colgate, Boston University, Tulane, Clark University, UVM, Skidmore, Connecticut College, Scripps, GWU, American, Macalester, Mount Holyoke, and Oberlin (This is my dream school)
Thanks so much everyone!

oh and i would be a third generation barnard woman and a second generation legacy at colgate!

Hello, well I’m not very qualified to chance you, but I do know a bit about some of the schools that your interested in. You have extremely good extracurriculars, which I expect will take you far in the admissions process. However, your grades may be your downfall in all of this, as your test scores seem to be decent as well. I think your a good match for BU, GWU and American. I don’t know much about the others, but you might be on the low side for Brandeis and Hamilton. I know that Mount Holyoke is very hard to get into, but a good friend of mine got in with a B average and worse ECs than you so you could have a fine shot, but I still think it is a reach. Good luck!

thank you so much imnotafraid!

i still feed bad about myself… but your test scores and EC’s are solid, with good essays i dont think you should have a problem getting into any of them.

You are not a match for GWU unless you visit, interview, and generally act very interested.

Thank you Thirbur and schmohawk. I have visited GWU and I should set up an interview now that you mention it…

bump 10 char :)

I’m kind of like you I want to go to GWU or American

okay, just as a question, is it different if two of the C+s were in a honors math classes instead of regular ones?

bump??? i’d really appreciate it. I’m trying to decide if I should even bother applying ed to oberlin or brandeis if i’ve got no shot…
