Want to start a Business Club and/or Computer Club

I want to start a Business Club, and/or a computer club, but I dont really know what that would entail.

For a business club I could get people to speak on different aspects of business, and having people lecture on topics such as investing and the stock market but that is all I can think of.

I have no idea what to do for computer club. My school is getting a computer lab soon, so there may be a reason to have one.

My school is kind of small though, like 170-190 guys [only].

****, my username is my email.

You could start a local FBLA chapter.

Is a FBLA chapter only for people who are in business classes?
The icebreaker looks kinda kiddyish, but everything else looks good. I still do not know what you do as a member of the chapter, besides getting someone to sponsor free food (I read the startup kit).

"Who can join FBLA?
Anyone who... is in a business or business related class."
Does that matter, as I am not in any business classes because there are none for my grade.

Well, FBLA is a national organization of high school students who are interested in business. It has nearly 15,000 chapters, and if you start one, your members can compete in business competitions at the local and state levels (I ended up getting first at the national level, actually), hold community events, fundraisers, volunteer, and have speakers from the business community. At my school, FBLA runs the school store, which sells candy and school supplies and stuff. That kind of thing.

my school's computer club runs our school website, and our district website

thanks for the feedback.
Mercury, what exactly do you do during a normal FBLA meet, besides the events and stuff?
I am really anxious about starting one, and if I will get the requisite amount of people.
Does it matter if I am not in any businesss classes?

for a computer club, consider having members work on the (free) training materials and entering the internet programming contests at www.usaco.org

We have meetings approximately every month, at which we discuss community involvement, what's going on in the school and how FBLA can help, sales at the school store, upcoming competitions. A few times during the year we got out of class to hear a speaker talk about life in the business world.

I don't know about being in business classes. FBLA was already a club at my school when I joined.

how can i set up a business club in school?
