<p>So I'm currently a commuting sophomore attending a private catholic university and I am miserable. I want to transfer to SUNY Buffalo and study Chemical Engineering. However, if I transfer, i will be one year behind everyone else and it will take a total of 5 years to get my undergraduate degree. Is the extra year of studying worth it?</p>

<p>So long as you can afford the 5 year plan. BTW, it is not unusual for Engineering majors to take 5 years.</p>
