Wanting to take college classes before I graduate HS

Hi! I’m planning on going to Kansas State University. I’ve already been accepted to the college. However, I have 8 credit hours already. I’m wanting to take between 13-16 more at a Johnson County Community college since I get free technology classes for being a high school student and so I can get a certificate so I get a entry-level tech support job.

My questions are:

Will I be considered an incoming freshman or a transfer student?

Will I still be eligible for freshman scholarships provided by the school?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you need more information please ask.

You have already been accepted by KSU as a freshman applicant. You need to communicate directly about applying for freshman scholarships.

You also need ask them what the procedure is for determining which of your JCCC credits will transfer when you enroll next fall.

I already did the scholarship application form during my application. I’m just making sure 24 hours won’t make me a transfer student instead.

You have to ask the school. Sometimes the schools allow a few units, but over a certain amount may affect your status. Contact the university and ask them.

I got a message back from K-State saying that I can take as many as I want as long as I’m in high school. Thanks for your help. I’ll wait to hear back from UIUC to see what they say
