I went to UCR for one year and ENDED UP DROPPING OUT in my first year because of the crappy location. MANY first-years drop out of here because of the location, grades and want to transfer. So think again before going here. I read a statistic from UCR's own handbook that 1 out 3 students will either drop out or complete their education at another education institution. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

because you underestimated the school smart arse

this is why you tour the school/area before you SIR -_- YOU are supposed to make sure YOU will be satisfied with your school. You could have ruled out UCR very easily if you wanted to find a school with really good location.

Dropping out/being dismissed is definitely the student’s fault. Obviously, if you don’t put in the work, then don’t expect to stay in a university.

if you’re going to use UCR as a stepping stone, you better be able to maintain a high enough GPA. If you can’t maintain a good GPA in UCR, how will you do in other schools? I’m not doubting anyone, but seriously, if you do plan to transfer, you better work hard. Most of my friends that attended UCR from my high school said that they wanted to transfer out, but the reality is that it’s probably just TALK. Do they have high enough GPAs to transfer to the school they want to go to? No. At this point in time, in order to transfer out, they can either go to a CC and transfer… or just stay at UCR and finish up college. Just keep in mind, if you’re trying to transfer from one school to another, doing it at a UC is not as easy as you think it may be.

Honestly, I think the workload in UCR is not bad at all (BUT keep in mind, this would vary from person to person). I’m still completing breadth requirements though… I may have a different perspective once I start upperdivs… but at the moment, I maintain a 3.0+ with very minimal effort. Had I gone to another school and put in the same amount of effort, I would probably be below a 3.0. I’m not complaining though. I mean I’m one of those people just trying to get by college.

UCR is not my dream school, but I never ever regret going to UCR.

lol wow take a look at this thread
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-riverside/780411-ucrs-review-alum.html
haha look at nomads post

For God’s sake, please make you sure you spell the plural of "freshman’ correctly.

Geez, thank goodness you left, because I don’t anyone could stand someone who complains about the college they attend.

Haha

and to think there has to be tons of people loving the school that don’t speak up for every one person who thinks their opinion matters. If everyone who loved the school as much as I do came on here and posted their testimony then you would see that you are in a real minority.

Thanks for leaving the school. If you were so much better than the school then you wouldn’t have had to ‘resort’ to going here in the first place.

Lemme guess - you dropped out cuz you’re an idiot, trying to blame it on something like location when we know very well that most students who go to college are intellectually unprepared for university courses

watch man you’ll drop out one month before graduation. According to many, many first year freshmans dropped out this year.

Um, I’m pretty sure that this “many” aren’t just referring to UCR. The same goes for most colleges. Even Harvard, I’m sure.

not that i’m a grammar nazi or anything, but it’s freshmen not freshmans.

anyway, people drop out everywhere. a lot of people were DISMISSED because they did not do well in their classes. there is a BIG difference between dropping out and being dismissed.

I think Yale…or maybe Princeton…one of them has a 99% freshmen retention rate if I’m not mistaken.

Geez! you wrote “Freshmans” more than once, that just means that it wasn’t just a typo! If you dropped out I hope you’ve got plans 'cause your chances of going anywhere with that high school diploma of yours are pretty slim.

youR A idiot!

This is your future…“You can’t fire me! I quit!”
sounds about right…“You can’t kick me out! I’m leaving!..didn’t like the location anyway.”
