<p>Use the heaviest and best bike lock you can find. My daughter's bike was stolen yesterday in broad daylight. She was using a cable lock, not the best kind, but had been told that bike theft wasn't a big problem at Wellesley and her bike wasn't a high end bike or in the greatest shape.</p>
<p>When she reported the theft to the campus police, they told her that they had been dealing with a sudden rash of Trek bike thefts over the past two weeks. They think it's just one guy stealing them. Apparently, Treks are like the Toyota Camrys of the bike world--they're popular and easy to sell quickly.</p>
