Warren Towers Pictures

I created this site a few years ago (with lostandfound5) so incoming freshman could see what the rooms in Warren look like before they move in. This was my old room in Warren 14B, but every double room looks like same because the furniture doesn’t move.

Enjoy!

Thanks molecularhum! I'm certain this help a bunch of Warren Freshmen with packing... Now if only you had one for Shelton Hall (my residence next year)...

-The Warren Coot66

That's funny because molecularhum and I lived in Shelton Hall our sophomore year!

We lived in a corner triple in Shelton, so it's probably different from where you're living.

Hmm... I actually don't know... I'm in a five person suite... is that like a triple? Aren't all rooms in Shelton suites?

-The Triple Coot66

Yes. A five person suite is a double and a triple connected by a small hall. You're the one who's going to be living on the management floor right?

which room are you in? I might be able to figure it out. I will be in Shelton next year also with a bunch of my friends. I was on 14b last year and had a ton of friends in shelton.

Yup, SMG floor for me. I'm in room 0209R... I'm actually living in the triple. Does my room get the bathroom?

-The Bathroomed Coot66

i am not pos but i do believe that its usually the double side that has the bathroom. hope that helps

Yeah the double side has the bathroom. I think you might be in the guys triple that was on the opposite corner of our girls triple.

Our room was big and square with 3 beds, 3 desks, 3 dressers, a closet in the wall, and 2 free standing closets. The furniture is all freestanding so you can rearrange it how you like. I really liked living in Shelton. It's quiet, but a great place to have other people come visit because of the amount of room.

This sounds pretty cool! Is the wall closet bigger than the free-standing ones? Would you have to you pass through the double to get to the triple (i.e. are the room connected?) And are the boys and girls rooms separate? I know it's a coed floor, but are there any restrictions in place?

-The Restricted Coot66

The wall closet is a bigger than the free-standing ones. It's a little deep, so to get all the way in the back you have to climb in there.

There's a little hall connecting the two rooms (that's where we put our microfridge). The suites themselves are single sex, but the floor is co-ed (we had boys living in the suites next to us).

Our RA never came by that often, and there are two doors to to block the noise before it gets into the hall...

Thanks a lot! That's all really helpful! A final question, is there anything you'd recommend I should bring (being in Shelton) and would not be able to live without?

-The Final Coot66

oh, that's awesome =) i'll be living in 14b next year, in a quad though :(
are they really that crowded? the doubles look decent, especially all spiffed up like your dorm room haha.

thanks for the pictures! and same as coot - anything specific that we will REALLY need?

I actually lived in the quad on 14b freshman year. Same thing goes for Shelton actually with the furniture. It is movable so feel free to rearrange the room in a way that gives you guys the most space. Also, something about the quad. Four girls in a wide open room means you NEED communication. Even if you guys aren't best friends you must talk to each other and be open. 9 monthes can become a really long time if a war is started.

As far as essentials go, a seat cushion for your chair. Flat wooden chairs are a pain to sit in for 4 hours+ while writing a paper/surfing the web. Other than that I can't think of anything specific.

If you're in the quad, you need to move all the furniture so it's around the outside of the room. I know some of them have desks and wardrobes in the middle and it just gives a really cramped feeling

Yeah that's what we did. A good tip is to actually put the dressers under the lofts because they fit. And put all the closets right next to each other.

I found some pictures of our room in Shelton:

http://emily.uncommontime.net/images/augsept05/dorm/

You have to clean your own bathroom in Shelton, so I would suggest bringing some cleaning supplies. Also, the bathroom is pretty small, so an over the toilet shelf is helpful.

Yay for pictures! These really helped me get a better image of what the room looks like! Would you mind if I upload them on Facebook for a Shelton Hall Freshman Group?

And, if someone's willing to answer, I have a few quick questions. The floors aren't carpeted, right? So would bringing a mop or something be a decent investment? Would bringing a small carpet be a good idea? And lastly, is there space under the bed to store stuff? My parents bought these things to raise the bed and make space, but I'm not if that's actually necessary.

-The Raising Coot66

the floors are carpeted and i would bring the rack raisers so that you can store stuff under your bed. It helps a ton.

hi, im going to be in the 6th floor of the warren towers.. would the bed sheets size be a twin double or something? thanks!
