The only professors that show up for Warren Writing 10A are Bauer and Brodkey.

I heard bad reviews for both with the edge going to Brodkey. I heard she's horrible and that she's literally out to stab your GPA to death. Well, I really want to get over with the writing program so should I just take Brodkey fall quarter or wait until Winter so I may possibly get Bauer or someone else.

Oh and if I were to add Brodkey's class my schedule would look like:

Math 20A (Eggers)
Chem 6A (Johnson but waitlisted as #2) will I even get in?
Intro Poli Sci/Int'l Relations (forgot teacher but heard good reviews)
Warren Writing 10A (Brodkey)

Someone who has experienced this supposed witch, please help.

If everyone wants Johnson that badly, I'm pretty sure people will do anything to keep their spot in her class. Waitlisting is probably a mirage that will keep you from getting in to not only her class, but also the class of the 2nd best chem professor. By the time you realize the futility of waitlisting, the nest best chem prof will probably be filled up too.

yes, pretty much all the warren writing classes (save for a few) are taught by TAs. so don't let the teacher of the class influence which one you decide to take - if i were you, i would just get warren writing out of the way as soon as possible, and start it fall quarter.

hm...so many people whine and complain about warren writing, but it's really not that bad, esp. since there's only two quarters of it - so if you start to hate it just think about the ERC and Revelle people who have to take 5+ quarters of writing, and be thankful.
A lot of people will blame the TA if they can't stand the class, and it is definitely true that you will "click" with some TAs more than others...but just try to get on their good side, put effort into the assignments they give you, go to their office hours to ask questions, participate in class, etc...all of this will contribute to a better grade.
If Hidden Mind is listed as the text then I'm kind of surprised they're keeping the same theme this year as they did last year (Consciousness Debates). I found it to be an interesting class, just b/c I'm into neuroscience/philosphy/cognitive science and all that kind of stuff. Just put in your best effort, try to figure out what the teacher is looking for in your writing, and try not to procastinate!

Will they change the topic from QUARTER to quarter? I'm thinking of buying the text, but if my workload is too much, WCWP would be the class I'm dropping.
