How do you get into a waitlisted class?

So, right now I'm waitlisted for Warren Writing 1A, but I REALLY need to get into it. (There is a reason, but I don't want to say it.) They only have about 15 people per class. Should I go the first day, even though I am on the waitlist? What's the best way to get into this!!! Help, please?

You don't absolutely need this...I'm pretty sure you have other GEs to take care of. You're not a graduating senior so it's not imperative you take it immediately, and if you are...well, you can talk to the dept for an exception. (Sorry, usually when people say they "need" a class, they actually just want it when they can easily take another class. "Needing" a class is when it satisfies prereqs for many other classes, and Warren writing isn't really a prereq for anything except maybe english classes. It's a slight pet peeve of mine.)

But in any case, if warren writing is anything like muir writing, if you're lucky the top 2 people will get in. Go ahead and go on the first day and ask the TA.

Thanks. i need/want the class because of transferring purposes. I can transfer this year if I take Warren Writing the first two quarters ... and if I don't I have to wait a year.

I thought you just got to UCSD, where are you transfering to?

Don't transferrr!
UCSD is FUN!

Ha, I was hoping your reason for not telling us at first had to do with a girl of some kind.

But hey, you're looking to transfer days before school even starts? Well, good luck with that...

Haha, this is the reason why I didn't want to say. But yes, I'm looking ... I'm keeping my options open.

If you're on a WAITlist, you WAIT to get off the list.
