Was anyone else's National Honor Society a joke?

<p>What is NHS for?</p>

<p>^ National Honors Society is widely focused on Community Service and planning different things throughout the school, and is favored by many colleges.</p>

<p>^Okay. I guess some schools take NHS more seriously than others.</p>

<p>^Yeah, my school’s NHS is like a little club that only a few know.</p>

<p>I’m not sure about the NHS at the school I’m going to…</p>

<p>@Fantasy my NHS has a monthly bake sale so during breakfast I went around the tables in the cafe asking if anyone wanted to help NHS and buy anything. One guy was like, “NHS?! Is that like a disease or something?!” I just sighed and walked to another group of people.</p>

<p>It’s pretty serious at my school. You are invited to apply. About half of each grade is invited, and only a quarter of that are accepted. At my school, the half that is invited to apply would easily make it at my public school. We do lots of community service events and peer tutoring.</p>
