Was I screwed by an online seller?

A few days ago I went ahead and purchased Calculus by James Stewart 5th Edition. Well the book arrived today and after I opened the package I find the International Student Edition of Calculus by James Stewart 5th edition. My question is, did I get screwed over? Will the professors care about the edition of the book that I have? I don't want to walk into class with a book that says "Not for Sale in the United States" and cause some alarm.

shouldn't be a problem as long as the questions are the same.

which school do you go to? we used that book as well...
if you don't trust it, i'll sell you mine (used, very used, but usable) for $100, with solution manual :)

I bought a couple of books like this in college (international editions) off EBay for a drastically reduced price. Usually the only difference is the int'l edition is paperback.

Well this International Student Edition was really cheap ($68) and it's hardcover and inside there's a code for access to the regular student's edition online so I guess I actually got a good deal.

I recently read a suggestion that buying the international edition is usually a great cost-saving strategy for textbook purchasing. Can't comment on the exact text for your class, or the price you paid, but apparently, it is a popular strategy.

it's alright...they have the same contents

most people buy the international version over the us one cause it's cheaper!

i got the international student ed of that exact same book from half.com last yr...it's exactly the same except for i have only noticed one problem...i think in chapter 6 or 7, there is one answer in the "selected answers" section in the back that is wrong....but 'im so sure, there are always wrong answers in those books anyway.

It's most likely from England.

There's been lots of press about how these international editions (largely from the UK) are exactly the same and are being sold for about 50% of the US price on Amazon and similar sites.

But yeah. It should be exactly the same.
