Essays: Very good, proofread by 5 close people.

Teacher Recommendations:
1) My Spanish 5 Honors (no AP in my school) teacher who is a Middlebury graduate wrote me one. Excellent, one of the best she wrote! We are very close.
2) My AP English teacher who graduated from Stanford wrote me one. We are close.
3) I also got a letter of recommendation from Citibank. My supervisor went to an Ivy League graduate school, and wants me to work for Citi when I graduate and during the summers in college.

Counselor Recommendation: Excellent, he said it was concise and specific.
State: New York
School Type: Competitive Public near Adirondack Mountains (~ 450 kids in my class)
Ethnicity: Pakistani
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: Middle Class; need financial aid. EFC= 12,500
Hooks: My recommendation is from a teacher who graduated from Middlebury? I am not sure....

honestly its completely up in the air, but I would say you have a decent chance!
Pros:Recs, ECs, Community Service, URM, awards
Cons: GPA/Class Rank, potentially seen as spread to thin/not passionate (but this entirely depends on the essays, if you can somehow show how all of your ECs relate to your passion(s) then it would be a pro not a con :)

I really think you have a good chance, but your GPA/class rank will hurt you significantly
luckily the recession is making LACs easier to get into  and you are an outstanding applicant (sans GPA). I would obviously try to pull your GPA up so that you’re more like top 25%, but besides that it seems like you’ve got everything in order.

Good luck! I hope that you get in :)

Well, my counselor did say that I would be in the top 10%! Thanks though!

Bump!

I think you have a good chance you seem to be active in school. They loved that I was involved in so many things. Keep up your involvement and show that you are dedicated.

Do I understand you are a current Junior? And your teachers have already written your recommendations? While S asked in the summer, he sat down with each person in the early fall which I felt was ideal because he had matured a lot over the summer. And not to be sexist, but sometimes boys can use all the time to mature that they can get! :)

For real, 10 char

You took 1 non honors class in your junior year, though (physics). But you got a 100 so that’s a good GPA booster. :)
