On my first SAT, I scored a 2100, but the second time I took it (stupid perfectionism!) I scored one hundred points worse! Will this score look funky or will the adcom write it off as a fluke?

Also, should I consider taking it a third time?

I would suggest you NOT take it again... under a worst case scenario you could get a score similar to your 100 point drop, which would confirm the lower score instead of making it seem like n anomoly. Move on to the ACT, get a high score and make it look like the day you dropped 100 points was just a bad day. That way, you will have a good 2100+ SAT and probably a good ACT as well. If you KNOW for SURE you will equal or beat your first SAT, then you might consider trying again. Good Luck.

An admission committee will consider your highest score. But what else are you doing with your time to get ready for college?

I have really good ECs and pretty good essays. I volunteer A LOT, so I'm not too worried about that. It was just that the day I took the test, I pysched myself out because I was so focused on improving my score. It was totally my mindset, but I'm just mad that I wasted the money and the time on a score that might potentially hurt me.
