Wash U (Olin) vs Boston College (CSOM)

I posted this in the other thread but also wanted to know your thoughts. I really like both schools and am not sure exactly which to choose.

(Insert comment about how it’s really subjective and up to what you value, blah blah blah)

I just have to say that BC had the only campus I thought was more aesthetically pleasing than washu’s. I never really considered it though, as it was a tad too “jesuit-y” for my taste, and was a bit larger and hillier than I wanted. Additionally, I felt that despite the same cost of attendance, washu offered me far superior opportunities for education.

I know BC very well because it is in my back yard(so close to my home). I got accepted last year. I ended up joining WashU. Freshmen dorm is at neighbor town(not on campus) and school seem to be more religeous that I thought. More important thing is WashU academic program quality and reputation are better. For the same cost, my family thought that WashU’s better pick. WashU campus and dorm are a lot better and more beautiful.

WashU is more reputed than BC. Also, the quality of life at WashU is second to none. Everyone at washU loves it and would chose it over any other place in a heartbeat.

My friend went to BC and I choose WashU. I agree with the comments above. BC is very preppy. Good part of social focus is around sports - football, basketball and hockey. I didn’t think the dorms were as nice as WashU’s. I am from MA so knew about BC. I also think that WashU is rated much higher than BC in most academic areas. BC ranks in the 30s in moat majors.
