Wash U Olin vs. U Mich Ross

Hi, today I was finally accepted as a Ross preferred admit. The problem is that I have already in a deposit to Wash U as I had full intentions of going there. Now that I was accepted to Ross, my decisions has gotten much more complicated. What is everyone's opinion (biased or unbiased) of both of these business school and of the universities themselves

you were excepted to ross? i thought you can only apply to ross when you're a sophomore who's actually in uMich...

Choose the school that would be the best fit for you. Dont just look at the rankings.

I second the comment by collegebound. The two schools are apples and oranges. UMich is HUGE state school with a big sports rah-rah atmosphere, WashU is a mid sized private without a sports focus. Which school is the better fit for you?

The overall student quality (at least from SAT scores and class rank) in Olin is a bit higher. The placement record for Olin graduates has been improved over the last five years. Remember Olin and WashU are in the growth phase, and it is reasonable to believe the placement will continue to improve.

Does that mean that you're definitely in the Michigan business school? I didn't like Michigan, and some other schools (Emory) because I wanted to be absolutely sure I was getting into the b-school. I think the business school at Michigan has higher scores, etc. than other schools at Michigan and it's also very highly ranked - in the top 5. Just thought I'd throw that in - although I'm going to Olin.

I've decided to stick with my original decision of Olin...amazon - as a ross preferred admit you are offered a spot as a sophomore at ross pending at least 3.3 gpa and at least a C in 3 required courses
