I don’t think that has to do with the johnson scholarship. It could be something to do with questbridge?? just guessing
I didn’t apply through questbridge, but I definitely don’t think it was for johnson finalists. He didn’t say anything during the interview that indicated that it was.

You all are probably right about decisions coming out soon (and I hope you are bc waiting sucks lol) but the table at the bottom of this page: Deadlines | Washington and Lee says Johnson decisions come out in late March? Again fingers crossed that’s not actually the case
That’s after Finalist Weekend is over. Johnson Finalists are announced around early-mid Feb, after which the actual scholars are announce late Feb (usually…)

Last year my son was notified that he was a finalist in early February. The scholarship selection event was in early March. He was notified that he was selected in late March. He is currently a freshmen at W&L and loves it there. He ended up getting into his top choice ivy league school. I think he has no regrets that he decided to go to W&L instead. The Johnson scholarship is an amazing opportunity. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear.

possibly…someone said feb 14th was the official date BUT they normally post decisions on Fridays. However, they normally email before they post decisions telling us exactly when.
Update on the Johnson Scholarship: It states on the website (and in an email) that the scholarship decision is coming out on February 15th (Monday) at 8pm EST.

Hi there - I was looking on this thread for a friend whose daughter applied for the Johnson this year and asked for interview help to prep for the scholarship if she gets invited. My son competed two years ago but didn’t get the Johnson even though he’s a double legacy, valedictorian at IB school, Eagle Scout, major service project founder, national awards, and had already been admitted early action to Harvard. He currently is a sophomore at Harvard and very happy but we have always wondered what happened. Not going to W&L has been hard for our family (they are regular donors too) although Havard has been wonderful. No reason to complain - it just doesn’t add up for us so there has to be more to the story (which we will never know). Since you mentioned that your son was also admitted to an Ivy, I wanted to reach out for your insight? Was your son admitted early so that W&L knew he was already accept to an Ivy league school before competing for the Johnson. We have always wondered if that influenced/hurt our son’s chances. Just curious if you don’t mind sharing your opinion. Thanks!

Also, we helped “coach” a student who applied last year (who would be in your son’s class currently at W&L) with her essay and interview and she received the Johnson and is very happy so I believe we feel that we have a realistic understanding as to what W&L is looking for and what kinds of outstanding students are awarded this amazing scholarship.
