Washington U. partners with full-ride scholarship program for elite colleges

"Washington University is joining schools such as Yale and Princeton in an effort to become more accessible to future scholars who can’t foot the bill of an elite college education.

The university is partnering with QuestBridge, a nonprofit that matches low-income, high-achieving high school students with some of the country’s top colleges for full-ride scholarships.

Washington U. is the first school in Missouri to participate in QuestBridge.

The nonprofit partners with 39 other colleges, including six of the eight Ivy League universities. Only seven other institutions in the Midwest participate, including Northwestern University, the University of Chicago and the University of Notre Dame." …

This is a good decision. WashU has been criticized for lack of socioeconomic diversity.
