Washington University in St. Louis Class of 2021 RD Discussion Thread

So will it be tomorrow for everyone or for only those who applied for those scholarships?

If decisions are released today or tomorrow, everyone will hear at the same time. And they released decisions March 10 last year which is why some people originally thought that date… but scholarships were released 2 weeks later than last year so who knows

Someone start a wash u prospective discussion groupme and share the link plz

10th March is just speculation, based on last year’s release date. It doesn’t necessarily have to be on the same date every year.

Has anyone heard from any proper source, like from the admissions office, about whether decisions are going to be released today or tomorrow? If so, what time?

Does anyone have information from a verified source about when decisions are being released? Obviously there are rumors about it being today, tomorrow, or Friday, but does anyone have info from an admissions rep about the exact date and time?

just talked to my counselor and he said washu said decisions would come out monday 3/13 so who knows at this point

When my daughter was admitted in 2014, there was an email the day of or the day before decisions were released to the portal, so I don’t think you’ll need to be checking the portal frequently just to see if they’re up. Wait for an email.

All of the dates that we have right now are completely speculation. They were released on March 10 last year, but we have had no official confirmation that they will be released on that date, or today, or tomorrow, or any day other than “on or before April 1.” Obviously we’re all very hopeful and anxious but there’s no point in assuring people that decisions will come out today or tomorrow when really we have no idea.

Can someone call the admissions office? I’m sure they can tell us the date when decisions will be released.

Does it really negatively affect an applicant if he/she doesn’t show demonstrated interest? I couldn’t apply for scholarships due to school exams going on at that time. I wrote them an email stating this and showing more interest, however, even after multiple re’sends, no counsellor got back to me saying that they received the email.

@harveyspectator Try not to write too many emails, the former admission officer of Northwestern told me that the people there got annoyed if you write too much or too frequently

I was accepted RD as a danforth finalist- I know that every WUSTL rep I’ve spoken with has said how important demonstrated interest is to them, especially for candidates that they know/can tell from their profile will be applying to other highly competitive schools. Have you directly emailed your local rep? @harveyspectator

Do you guys think applying to USP Program shows demonstrated interest? It required 2 additional essays. Does parents working there count as legacy?

I think that doesn’t hurt, but I know traditionally DI is more along the lines of going to admissions events, possibly visiting, meeting your area rep, things like that. And I wouldn’t be surprised if you get some kind of special consideration if your parents are faculty, but I don’t know for sure @AznDude525
