So is it going to be released today?
We will find out in 20-40 minutes but I doubt it
@Harryp17 fancy seeing you here.
I bet it’s tomorrow at the earliest. The only indication we had that it was today, was from a poster who said that they would be coming out “soon” or “today or tomorrow.” And a couple people said it would be tomorrow. Who knows…
u too @teddyh
@bigeddy123 Did your coach explicitly say that the good news was from WashU or was it just “Good news in your life”?
It wasnt to me @800math it was to this guy at my school and he said wash u is coming out soon but idk why he would say that @4 if it doesnt come out today
@bigeddy123 But “soon” can mean tomorrow or day after tomorrow too. Why doesn’t your friend who got a text from the coach ask the coach if decisions are coming out today?
This is the pattern:
WUSTL, Class of 2016: Friday, 9th March
WUSTL, Class of 2017: Friday, 8th March
WUSTL, Class of 2018: Monday, 10th March
WUSTL, Class of 2019: Monday, 9th March
WUSTL, Class of 2020: Thursday, 10th March
WUSTL, Class of 2021: ?
In the past 5 years, not once has the decision been released on 7th March. Since today is 7th March, the chances of decisions coming out today are pretty low, based on past trends.
Another thing to note is that no two consecutive years have had the same decision date. So that hints towards the fact that this year it won’t be 10th March, since it was 10th March last year (Class of 2020).
Since it can’t be 11th March, because it was never released on that date in the past 5 years, and because of the increase/decrease trend, it has to be either 8th March or 9th March. I’d place my bet on 9th March, because it occurred twice in the past 5 years.
Also look at the days of decisions being released: Friday Friday, Monday Monday, then Thursday.
So now this year it must be a Thursday, which fits in perfectly, because 9th March is a Thursday!
And that would make it Friday Friday, Monday Monday, Thursday Thursday.
So there is not just one indication. There are multiple things pointing towards Thursday, 9th March:
- The day trend (F F, M M, T T)
- The increase/decrease trend (decrease, increase, decrease, increase, so now it must be decrease - which means that it has be earlier than 10th March)
- If it was 7th March, that would be a 3 day DROP from last year’s date. In the past 5 years, there was never that big of a drop/rise. Seems improbable that they would jump from 10th to 7th!
But then again, all of this ANALYSIS can mean nothing, and they can just break the trends, and finish their work 2 or 3 days earlier as compared to last year. That would be great!
The pattern, however, points towards Thursday, 9th March.
Past results do not impact future results
Thank you for the in depth analysis @ADP2322!
@ADP2322 And they released scholarship decisions 2 weeks later than they had in previous years, so who knows:(
fam i talked to my college counselor TODAY and he told me that admissions told him decisions will be coming out on monday 3/13. believe whatever you want but i wouldn’t be surprised if decisions don’t come out until then.
My financial aid tab has also disappeared. Anyone know why or are we just speculating?
@ambiguouspronoun what was your counselor’s source?
I am expecting it to be either friday or monday
@collegehopeful2021chs as far as I’m aware, he emailed the admissions office and that’s the date they told him. he directly contacted them.
Think it’s 3/13 as well. My regional counselor said he will be out of office until March 13 and generally some do that in order to prevent students from asking questions about their admission decision.
@MystaAwesome8 our financial aid link on the Pathway disappeared too. I can go directly to Student Financial Services site and login as usual.
I just spoke with my friend who goes to Wash U and she said last year decisions were not out until the 11th
