WASHU ED 2021

Guys I actually cannot wait for December 15. It is all that occupies my mind

Just curious, has anyone started the scholarship forms or are you waiting on the acceptance first?

@audib I’ve started on mine, i think they help indicate dedication to an extent

I interviewed about a year ago, so I don’t remember :frowning:

To pass the time, how about we discuss ourselves and what was on our applications? I think it may be interesting to see how we compare to each other. I have a 4.6 GPA, a class rank of 20/511, and a 33 superscore ACT with a 34 writing. I am president of the Science National Honor Society, Secretary of Strolling Strings, and Senior Princess of Job’s Daughters. I am also in the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Book Club, ConQuestAdors (part of a yearly competion team), Apotheosis Literary Magazine, Wash U’s Saturday Scholars Program, and I have performed in the orchestra pit the last 3 year. I interned over at Wash U’s Developmental Biology lab and St. Mary’s, where I worked with a Physician’s Assistant. I have also put in about 50 volunteer hours at my local library and have worked with the Moolah Shriners to help raise money for their case. Additionally, I have done about 50 other hours from volunteering around my school. For my work experience, I play in a duo as a violin for weddings and other paid events. How about you guys?

Hey we’re all musicians! @WashUDreamer wow great scores and rank! I’m jealous. I have a 32 superscore (36 on English and reading), 4.68 gpa, 123/650. I play violin too in an orchestra outside of school, I was first chair at western regional, and I attended all state and national orchestras. I am president of tri-M music honor society, and I am in national honor society, national technical honor society, and Latin honor society. For volunteer work I teach violin at a middle school and I do relay for life. Also, idk if you guys know what this is, but I attended NC governors school. My chances are slim but it’s worth a shot!

We are pretty similar!

@Raelte we are pretty similar!

@Kijipo7 thats really rad, being in a national orchestra mustve be a really fun experience, Good luck to us both!

@raelte yes this next few weeks will be so long!

Is anyone else having this problem? When I first wrote my essay I was so in love with it, but the more I read it the more I hate it! I can’t stand it now

Hey guys.

I submitted my application on November 13, and have not received a confirmation E-Mail or access to the WashU pathway.

Their website says it should only take about 5 days for the E-Mail to arrive. I am panicking about this. I waited a week, seeing it could take time, but now I am insanely anxious that something went wrong. I submitted my application through common app and common app has it marked as submitted and complete, I don’t know what could have gone wrong…

Please reply…I’m very anxious. Should I contact the admissions office?

@TwiceTrash on the common app does it specifically say that they downloaded your materials(it’s under the recommenders/FERPA tab)? If it just says “submitted” then it’s a problem. Otherwise, I wouldn’t worry too much since you applied right before the deadline; they’re probably processing tons of applications right now since a lot of students submit right before the deadline

@TwiceTrash I would definitely contact them.

@TwiceTrash I would contact them and explain everything from above. Since the common app is time stamped, I’m sure you’ll be fine, but I would check just in case.

Guys 17 days let’s get this forum poppin

Isn’t it 12 days? @Kijipo7

@Kijipo7 @ssing714 yeah the earliest time decisions come out would be the 9th, but I think it’ll be the 10th like the past two years

My friend who goes to WashU ttold me it’s the second Thursday in December, which would be the 8th this year…but I could most def be wrong. Where did you guys hear that it comes out on the 10th?

Regardless the day is approaching quickly. Super nervous lol
