Hi, I’m a rising senior hoping to apply to Washington University in St. Louis. I was mainly wondering how much WashU takes into consideration SAT II Subject Test scores and how well I need to do on them (regarding averages). Scoured the internet for a bit, but could not find anything.
ACT: 33 (retaking)
GPA: 3.98 (unweighted) 4.23 (weighted)
EC: Strong ECs
Sincerely,
PS: First time using this discussion forum, please disregard any mistakes I’ve made.
As per Washington University’s site: “Washington University does not require SAT Subject Tests (formerly SAT II: College Board Achievement Tests). However, if you do take them and submit your scores, we will only consider them if they strengthen your application.”
First, let me suggest you not posting your full name. Secondly, WashU does not require you to submit any subject tests so don’t stress too much about them, test scores are just a small factor of your application, and subject tests are even more minute. You have a great ACT score and a great GPA. For now, focus on writing unique essays, strengthening your resume, and sit back knowing you are going to get a great education somewhere. Only submit your tests if they are good and have something to do with your intended major. Honestly, if you want to major in plant science, admissions could not care less if you did well in world history.
