WashU in St. Louis Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

I combed through all my D’s email and caught all fee waivers. :joy: :joy:

Communicated with NYU for a fee waiver, agreed, but they never made it work for us, so we skipped NYU.

Planning to use the saved $800 to buy a laptop for my D.

Sounds a good plan.

Congratulations! Did they call you on the phone or email you?

Guys can you please chance me
(i have not been selected as a finalist for any scholarship)
I’m an international student studying the A-Level curriculum.
→ I have a 4.0/4.0 UW GPA
→ I come #35 out of 950 students at my high school
→ Have taken the SAT twice got a 1220 then a 1360. Both scores are terrible. The second score was heavily impacted due to Covid. Please let me know If I should submit these or not. (only submitted to UofMiami and Fordham)
→ Predicted 3A* at A-Level (Mathematics, Econ, Business)
→ Wasn’t allowed to partake in extracurriculars due to some reasons but tries my best to pursue those things which I’m interested in. I know they are extremely unorthodox and probably have no weightage in the eyes of the admissions officers.

  1. Started my own Charity (Unofficial- Doesn’t have a name and isn’t registered yet)
  2. Became a self-taught forex and stocks trader and also teach trading- to help my father financially and to pay for the charity.
  3. took care of my grandparents on a regular basis.
  4. tutored my younger cousin
  5. was the captain of 3 business competitions
  6. Am an unofficial fitness trainer and nutritionist
  7. Am a micro Instagram influencer- make my own content/earn some money too.
  8. Miscellaneous activities/hobbies- participated in a couple of badminton tournaments at my club, frequently paint/draw, etc
→ I also faced certain extenuating circumstances because of which I got mediocre O-Level results and because of which I was also not allowed to participate in ECAs.
    → Will require financial aid

To be honest, in my humble opinion, your chance is smaller while everyone’s chance is very small.

agreed buddy. my chance is less than others. definitely.

Do not sweat. Just treat it as buying Powerball. My D applied for T-20, and expecting no win.

Anyone have a predicted date for when decisions are released?

I think people are saying March 11th or 18th. It could be later due to the increase in applications. All we know is that it will be by April 1st. Last year, it was released Thursday, March 12th.

does everyones portal say that they have not been accepted as a finalist for a merit scholarship? I didn’t even apply for one i thought…

Yes, sadly my son’s does.

Even if you didn’t apply for the signature scholar programs, everyone was automatically considered for the academic division scholarships.

Skimming this thread…rumor that decision could be earlier then April 1st? Saw the 11th or 18th above? Do they typically send out an email before they release decisions?

I’m a bit confused about the release date. Somebody on Reddit said that they heard that somebody who was awarded a merit scholarship heard March 10th on the Zoom meeting they had to attend.

However, if this is confirmed, why wouldn’t we all be informed? Also, why would decisions come out on a Wednesday when it’s usually a Thursday?

I’m a finalist for one of the scholarships and (AFAIK) that date was when we were to be notified about the scholarship- not a general admissions decision date.

ohh interesting… I wonder when they will release regular decisions! hopefully soon!! congrats on being a finalist

does anyone know if they normally notify us ahead of time when they are going to release or they jsut release

Yes! They always release them the second Thursday of March. In 2019, the second Thursday was on the 14th. Last year, it was March 12th. This year is the 11th, in 3 days!! Fingers crossed.
