Okay, so on a Thursday for the past 2 years. Maybe 3/11 this year? 3/18?
Does anyone know if apps r down this year? I wouldn’t expect it but I heard a lot of ppl got emailed a fee waiver
oh, I have no idea, but I did get emailed a fee waiver. I’d be surprised if they went down though because it seems like apps are going up everywhere
Hopefully but so many schools had a massive increase in applicants (not sure about WashU) that I worry it will be 4/1.
ugh
you’re probably right
also received a fee waiver which I thought was a bit weird. I can’t imagine they had a decrease in applications considering their trend of application numbers over the past few years.
Also got a fee waiver. On a side note, does anyone know when scholarship stuff comes out?
I just read on Reddit that they are apparently notifying finalists in the last week of February (next week).
For those wondering if the fee waivers might mean applications are down. The Chancellor, in his state of the university address , said applications are up significantly this year.
Here is a link to the State of the university address
It seems that some people got the call today and were notified about being selected as merit scholarship finalists. I’m not sure if it was just for the signature scholar programs or also for academic division scholarships.
does anyone know if being a finalist for the scholarship programs has anything to with RD admission?
Mine was for a signature scholar program! I’m not sure when academic division ones such as Langsdorf are coming out
I know that for those that received a call, it means early acceptance but I don’t think it has an impact on others if that makes sense?
For those who received notification re scholarship finalist status, did you also have an update on your portal?
No, I do not have any change to my portal.
Heads up to people who were asking earlier, someone on reddit just said they got called for Langsdorf? So maybe it wasn’t just the signature scholar programs
There are 2 active topics of Wash U 2025… Everyone talks twice.
I would not read anything into an increase in fee waivers. My S21 received three times as many offers of fee waivers than my S17 did four years ago (they have similar stats and profiles) and several of the fee waivers were from very prestigious colleges. My take on it is that colleges thought applications might be down, due to the pandemic, and sent out fee waivers not expecting that applications would actually increase at the selective schools!
For 23 applications, we paid $280, waived $800, just for your reference.
Wow, that’s great. I paid probably $1300 for my son’s 21 applications. There was only one fee waiver from WashU, and my son just disregarded the email. We only found out after a $70 payment.
