WASHU On Campus interview questions

im visiting campus soon and was wondering what questions other people have gotten when they went for on campus interviews?

ALSO what else does WASHU like students to do when they visit campus – what can help with admissions?

My on-campus interview last summer was pretty brief (it probably lasted 15-20 minutes). There were no curveball questions, just basic things like what you liked about WashU, why you thought it would be a good fit, etc. I also got asked some pretty open-ended questions about what my favorite classes in high schools have been and my extracurricular activities. Overall it was a pretty relaxed interview (at least for my interviewer), even though it was my first college interview.

In terms of what to do to demonstrate interest outside of the interview, I made sure to email my student interviewer a thank you note that also included specifics from the interview about what I liked about what they had to say about WashU. I also popped in to the admissions office to introduce myself to my admissions counselor, which was a little awkward just because I didn’t have any prepared questions (so I would recommend coming up with some specific, quality questions if you are going to do this). I then emailed her thanking her for taking the time to meet me.

Ultimately, campus visits at any school are mainly meant to just help students get a better feel for the school, and your main priority for your campus visit should be trying to see if you can picture yourself at a school.
