WashU vs. U Mich Honors vs. UMD Honors

Hello,

I’ve been having a lot of trouble deciding between these three. Both have their pros and cons, and I don’t really know which would be the best for me as a student (I am hardworking and love to do well academically, but I also like to have fun–whether that be going to sports games, partying, or just hanging out). Currently, I am pursuing pre-med, but by no means am I 100% pre-med (actually because the health care system is changing so much, I am leaning away from it.) I want a school that is strong in pre-med but also strong in other disciplines in case I switch to maybe pre-law or business. I got into UMD Honors full ride (I also live in MD) and U Mich Honors (which Honors program is better?). Though, I don’t really want to make money a huge factor in this choosing process. I would like a school with a lot of activity, school spirit, and preferably good sports. Also, if I do decide to go premed or pre-law, I want to know that the school I choose will not deflate my GPA, making it way harder to get into top graduate schools. What do you all think?

I don’t see how you can turn down a full ride from Maryland. Obviously, if your parents can afford Michigan or WUSTL with ease, then I would go for fit. Based on what you have said (good sports, lively campus, school spirit), Michigan would be your best option.

Based on your criteria, you can drop WashU from the list. If your parents are happy paying the crazy high OOS cost of Michigan, it seems to the best option. But I don’t think Michigan is worth $240k more than UMD.
