WashU's website is lame

Why does WashU's website look like a 10th grader made it. Compared to just about every other university, I am hard pressed to find a webpage lacking as much professionalism. WashU is not a bad school by any means, but what's up with the website?

Lacking professionalism? I don't get that from their site. It's nothing flashy but neither is the school. I like their site...

I think the website is very plain, which isn't bad in and of itself, but it is sometimes difficult to navigate. I don't think it's horrible--there are plenty of schools with worse sites.

I love this page: http://news-info.wustl.edu/web/page/normal/8584.html

Especially the last publication.

I do agree that the website is very navigable, I don't have a problem with that. I would think though, since WashU is constantly trying to put itself on the level of the most prestigous of institutions (which I have no problem with, its a great school), a good way to do that would be to have your website not look like a high school project.

WashU is so sexy!!! I especially like the way they send me sooooo much mail that i just throw in the garbage....WOW..i am applying there but i don't 50 post cards over the course of my day.

Not nearly as bad as, http://www.wellesley.edu/ResLife/whereyoulive.html

I spit out some coffee and then wished I was blind. Although on the bright side, it is informative. I'm definitely signing up to do some website stuff when I get there.

Sheed30: lol seriously, I have a stack JUST from WUStL.

Jesus that Wellesley page looks like they made it in Paint.

Kyle...i know, WOW, and i can't believe Wellesley's page.

I love how the pictures of Boston are mostly random billboards.

Haha, I'm surprised the Wellesley page doesn't bombard you with Javascript messages or isn't filled with funny Javascript functions (cursor with a string of balls attached to it, marquees at the bottom, etc.).

Yes, much props for lack of glitter text and animations. I don't mean to bash their IT skills or people put to do these things (because at least information is somewhat accessible), I just wish half their content didn't look like it was designed in the 90s.

Wow - Wellesley needs to police the websites that run around using their name. Maybe pay this Brittany girl a couple extra bucks to take it down....ouch.
