I'm planning to go to Cornell day this saturday, but that's when El Clasico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid is scheduled. Anyone know if there's a soccer community at Cornell that will watch this match?
I really, really, hate to miss this match.

Thanks a bunch!

Man! You watch soccer too!!! Awesome! Unfortunately, I’m gonna miss it as well bc of Cornell Days. But hey, this year we will have at least 2 more El Classicos Copa and then additional 2 (Champions League-99% sure). So it’s ok.

you could at least check in RPCC (which is no north campus.) I wouldn’t be surprised if it was on the big television there.

also, if you’re desperate for the game and don’t care about a crowd: if you have a laptop, you can watch it live on ESPN3, since that website is available for free through Cornell’s wifi. you can get on the wifi as a guest. I relied very heavily on ESPN3 during the world cup last year and they’ve got tons of great European soccer. I would not watch in a library if you think you might celebrate a goal or something, but there are public places you could find…

We all know La Liga is a joke…the EPL is where its at

I don’t know if it’s going to be on anywhere so I’ll probably end up watching it on ESPN3.

1st of all, stop hating on La Liga >.< (did you see how both La Liga teams in the CL are destroying their opponents? And Real Madrid obliterating Tottenham )

2nd, I hate to watch it alone. Cornell is a big university, so I’m sure there must be a large group watching it somewhere. I just don’t know where to look.

Anyone?

@sxe, you going on Saturday? Maybe we can find a place and a crowed to watch together.

Haha, I wish I could watch but I’m coming with my whole family and I won’t have time to watch the game… sadface

Btw, I’m a Barcelona fan.

Btw2, if you end up going to Cornell, mb we could watch some of the La Liga’s games (at least the classicos) in the lounge rooms on a big flat screnn tv :)

Btw3, the EPL sucks ^^

it was a joke…Barca is pretty awesome (Real not so much), but the EPL is still good. lol

Dislike! Dislike! Dislike! frowning. We’ll see what happens this weekend…

*Bump.
So no one plays/watches soccer at Cornell? This is just sad :'(

I do! I usually just watch them on my own though.

yeah people totally watch/play soccer. it’s just not like there is an organized “watch soccer club” where we can tell you exactly where to go for the match on Saturday. there is great soccer intramurals, though, which might be fun for you.

^ ok cool. I thought there might be a bunch of ppl who watch together or something, w/e.

do you mean the intramural might be fun for me on Cornell day, or at Cornell in general. I wanna play some soccer on Cornell day

haha i know it’s way past saturday, you guys just made me infinitely more excited to go to cornell. visca barca for the copa del ray final tomorrow! :)

yay! Barca! Barca! Baaarca! =) Ugh, I will miss that game as well traveling… and the next one too school sports…

that sucks! i guess i got lucky that spring break fell on el clasico week! also, if you have internet on your phone, trying going to veetle.com if you’re traveling. i watch matches on my itouch with wifi sometimes (although i’m not sure if it would stream flawlessly on a phone). alsoooo, i saw a guy on campus wearing a barca jersey last thursday when i visited. knew i had made the right choice right then. =P

what do you use to watch the matches on your ipod?? (an app of some sort, I assume?)

i just go on veetle.com in the browser itself. during the match, there are usually a couple of streams (almost always one in english too lol). hopefully it works on cornell internet! also espn3 just released a streaming app so you can watch matches on there too!

oh cool… I did not know about either of those options. thanks!

Sorry but I have to rub this in: Real Madrid is the new SPANISH CHAMPION! HAHAHAHAHA. Couldn’t outsmart us anymore, could you? ;)
