Ways to show interest to WashU

I applied RD to WashU, and I really love the school (couldn’t apply ED due to financial reasons). I know they’re really big on showing interest, so I was wondering what ways I could do that. These are what I’ve already done (I did these for genuine reasons, not just with the goal of “showing interest”):

  • Signed up for their email/mailing list
  • Gone to information sessions in my city
  • Had a conversation through email with an admissions counselor (the one who visited my city and spoke) about the difference between two majors I was thinking about
  • I am in the process of applying for many of WashU's scholarships
  • Had an interview (not sure if this counts)
  • I know this isn't really showing interest, but I thought I'd mention it anyways: I applied really early, like in August. I doubt this counts for anything.

What else can I do? I know visiting campus would be really good, but I don’t think that would be possible for me due to time and financial constraints. Thank you for any feedback you might have!

bssurliy – Sounds like you are doing all the right things! Definitely apply for those scholarships that you are a fit for – although competition is tough, thoughtful applications really do demonstrate interest! I would also suggest seeing if there is a Wash U alumni club nearby – you can find the Chapters (and links to their home pages) on the main Wash U home page. They have some great activities and it is a nice way to meet and network with alumni of all ages. Finally – Wash U does have some programs to pay for a visit for those who may not be able to afford it (although it may only be for admitted students) – the Admissions Office may be able to direct you there. Best of luck to you!

@Parche Thank you so much! I will keep all of that in mind.
