i get that the wc meal plans are for the meals served at your house. but im kind of confused on the meal plan descriptions:

*$400 in Big Red Bucks (BRBs); unlimited access to meals during designated service periods within the West Campus House System; additional 50 meals per semester that can be used in any of the other all you care to eat dining halls on campus (additional charges apply for Shabbat, holiday, and special meals in 104West!); 4 bonus meals (for guests) per semester.
*

brbs? is that like a debit card for on-campus stuff? if i run out can i just use my bank debit card?

additional 50 meals per semester - does that mean i get 50 meals outside of wc? like at other dining halls or something?

what about grabbing a quick bite to eat on campus but not at a dining hall? would that go under brbs?

BRBs are just like a debit card like you said. You are free to choose how you are going to pay for the meal. Note that it’s cheaper to pay with BRBs.

The additional 50 meals per semester for meals that you would get anywhere else that is not part of the west campus dining hall system, such as Okenshields, Appel, RPCC, etc.

Eating in other places, such as Ivy Room or at Statler, can be paid with anything. Again, it’ll be cheaper to use BRBs.

Oh ok thanks. Why is it cheaper, do they charge different rates if you pay in brb v. bank debit/cash?

They take into account all the tax etc. when you pay with cash or debit.

Is it possible to purchase extra BRB if you run out?

Yes, you can go to: https://card.campuslife.cornell.edu/, and manage pretty much everything from there. You can take a look at how much you have left, how many meals you have used, and add money for your laundry account, etc.
