The most played songs on my IPod are Avenue Q, Wicked and Rent. I am a muscial theatre addict, I admit and revel in it.
I would totally be up to a Musical Theatre Acapella group, but don't make it take too much time b/c I have a varsity sport to do. I am actually a good singer, I have been in a **** load of musicals but had to quit this year for rowing. GAHHHH responsibilities.

i love musical theatre.

my favs are pretty much anything andrew lloyd webber, wicked, miss saigon, les mis, the producers, fiddler on the roof and mamma mia. i'm pretty easy to please, lol. and i'm very excited that i get to see avenue q soon...

hedwig and the angry iNch... remember it's a sex change gone horribly wrong... yeah, that's how I remember it anyway. :)

as for yours: Once Upon a Mattress! The one song I've been able to download, urgh...

ok, here's a new one:

* At the end of a perfect day
nothing was different
and nothing would ever be the same
It was the end of a perfect day... *

Children of Eden? I saw that show at camp several years ago. I really liked it, so naturally I bought the soundtrack. I absolutely love Spark of Creation and Lost in the Wilderness.

Can you imagine how tough it would be to play God? Of all intimidating roles....

Anyway, Rachel, it seems like you and I are the only ones playing this game. Ah well, it's fun. :D

I've got a wonderful wife,
Two swell kids,
A good job and now this!
Someday we'll recall
The greatest day of all
Ed, I love you!

Hehe, I was just thinking no one else was playing, but I like it anyway... although, usually when I see your lyrics I'm like "crap, I should know that...." but it's something that I've seen like once and never seemed to really get into... you know, those crazy "classics" ;P I saw Bye, Bye, Birdie (the movie) in middle school sometime...all I really remember is having the ultimate blonde moment and asking "when did conrad birdie start getting known as elvis?" or something like that... embarrassing, to say the least...

Yup, Children of Eden... my high school did it when I was in 6th grade. Another Schwartz masterpiece. :) I can't even imagine playing God...

* Why should you want to know?
Don't you mind about the future
Don't you try to think ahead
Save tomorrow for tomorrow
Think about today instead*

Now that would be Jesus Christ Superstar. I played God in Children of Eden two years ago. It's an amzing show. It's definitely a challenging role, to say the least, but I had a lot fo fun with it. Here's one for you all:

And then next thing you know youre son is playing for money in a pinch back suit.
And listening to some big out of town jasper, hearing him tell about horse race gambling.
Not a wholesome trotting race, no but race where they set down right on the horse.

Music Man!

That's one of my favorites. I've been in it three times: Amyrillis, a dancer, and Mrs. Shinn. I also was in Children of Eden, actually - I played Aysha. There are some great songs in that show.

Oh, listen, sister
I love my mister man
And I can't tell you why
There ain't no reason
why I should love that man
It must be something that the angels had planned...

That's from Show Boat! Great show.

She was called the queen
of the town canteen
All the soldiers love her so
But when someone tries to kiss her
She always tells them no
Her love said:
Wait for me, Marlene

Okay best musical EVER...Wicked. I saw it on broadway and it was the first time I ever partook in a standing ovation because I actually stood up by reflex when it was over and not just cause everybody else was doing it. And for all you musical/drama kid types, a movie you all should definetely see is CAMP. It's about these kids at theatre camp and it's hilarious plus its got tons of great songs and shorts from musicals in it.

I saw it, but was really disappointed with the ending. It just seemed really anticlimactic. I did enjoy the part where that quiet girl poisoned the other one and stole her part.

I really really want to see Wicked!!

Ok, so to continue the game....

A secretary is not a toy,
No, my boy, not a toy.
Her pad is to write in
And not to spend the night in...

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying!

Pardon me, is everybody here?
Because if everybody's there,
I'd like to thank you all for coming to the wedding.
I'd appreciate you going even more
I mean, you must have lots of better things to do...

No one guessed mine :(. That's ok. It was sort of obscure.

Sorry, Rabo! I didn't realize!

But I also have to admit... I looked back at it, and I'm not sure I know what it is! Embarassing.

I know that one!! But what is it?? ARg! I know it... umm... Oh yes! Well, I heard it in this show on HBO called, "Putting it Together - A musical Review" ... It's by Stephen Sondheim. Carol Burnette was singing it. Here's one now.

"Isn't this a lovely day to be caught in the rain?
You were going on your way,
Now you've got to remain.
Just as you were going,
Leaving me all at sea,
The clouds broke, they broke,
And oh what a break for me."

franklinbrown : Company?
COols875: Top Hat?

Here's another one, a little obscure:

I'm breaking my mother's heart
The JCC of Spring Valley is shaking
And crumbling to the ground
And my grandfather's rolling
Rolling in his grave

Mary

Hey, hey, Shiksa Goddess!

Why, it's Last Five Years, of course! I ADORE that show!

Top Hat - wow, I really should have known that. Thanks for the help, marestar!

I'm totally in love with The Last 5 Years, and all of Jason Robert Brown's other shows too.

"Your brain is a company brain"

Love How to Succeed! Shallow, silly, but tunes are great, terrific harmonies and dance numbers. S is playing Finch in April, can't wait!

As far as 'college fit' goes:

"One of your own kind, stick to your own kind!"

(As long as you can figure out what 'your own kind' is like)

That would be the great West Side Story.

How about:

If I can't prove them wrong, show me where I belong,
for a hunger so strong kills all comfort and joy.
If you'd make me complete. I'll avoid all red meat,
I'll eat nothing but soy to have comfort and joy...
