We have a decision!

I wanted to let you kind Olin-board regulars who've been following my D's drama over the last few months know that this afternoon she officially made up her mind:

She's headed to Olin!!!

She's so excited and happy and seems entirely at peace with her decision. I'm positively thrilled for her, as, despite my best efforts at maintaining some degree of neutrality in this process, I've been quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) rooting for Olin all along. I think she's going to have an amazing experience and a remarkable education, and I'm so grateful she's been granted this opportunity.

I also wanted to thank all you wonderful members of the Olin community that have reached out to me and shared your Olin experiences and insights over the course of this journey. It's been extremely valuable, and has really brought home for me what a family-like environment Olin engenders.

D had a great quote while we were enjoying a celebratory dinner at a favorite restaurant tonight: "I have a certain sense of impending awesomeness!" That about says it all :D

Congratulations to your daughter rayrick.
That is fantastic news…and the quote is perfect for a student heading to Olin!

Let the awesomeness commence!! Congratulations to your daughter, rayrick…it must have been hard to hold your tongue…it’s so wonderful when they make the decision on their own and it feels so right!

Thanks, folks. There’s actually two layers to that quote: by going to Olin she will get to be part of something awesome, and by going to Olin she will become awesome!

Welcome to the Olin family. We look forward to meeting you at Family Weekend. Enjoy your summer.

Wow. That is wonderful news. I hope to be in your shoess in 2 years!

Congrats to you and your daughter, and welcome to awesome Olin!

Terrific news! Best wishes for a wonderful 4 years at Olin;)
