we should have a "vent about being premed" thread

i don't think the criteria for this forum is to only ASK questions about being premed. but i'm just surprised no one has ever posted a "woe is me" thread before. so i'll be a pioneer and say that i've been in dunkin donuts studying for my physiology final for 8 hrs now and i want to blow my brains out.

thoughts, anyone?

don't do it, you're a precious human being.

get a maple-frosted. They're the best.

Trust me, the woe is only beginning.

I studied 8 or so hours a day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and for a few hours on Monday in order to prep for my anatomy final. (Granted, I do feel really good about the test, so no brain loss secondary to gun shot wound here.) I have molecular cell bio/biochem on Friday, so guess what I get to do Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday?

Get used to studying. :D

I was going to say the same thing.

i agree about the maple-frosted. i used to work at dunkin donuts and they quickly became one of my favorites! i'm still in dunkin donuts but i'm leaving soon before i get the chance to find some kind of deadly weapon.

I like strawberry frosted. The pumpkin donuts are awesome, but seasonal.

I agree, but such is our lot for wanting to help people and having a passion for learning. I mean who wouldn't want to make it impossible for good hardworking kids to achieve their silly dreams of trying to save lives? Haha. I just studied 50+ hours for a Chem final which ended up test things that were neither in the lectures nor the textbook, yay!

I will never understand the east's obsession with dunkin. Gross. You all most likely have been brainwashed into liking it, is what I think. :D

I know what you mean; my organic chem teacher is out to trick us. He puts all sorts of things on our exams that we've never seen before; things not in lecture, and things not in the textbook.

It's an honors section, so I understand that it will be harder; it's just annoying that he tries to make sure nobody does extremely well. On the bright side, I understand organic chem very well because of his class (which I'm hoping will help me when I take biochem next year, and the MCAT). If I was in the non-honors class, I'd be getting easy 100s; I'm amazed by how poorly they understand the material in that class.

I bumbled my way through the second half of Orgo, and I did just fine on the MCAT. I'm not sure how much of a help Orgo really is for the MCAT or for biochemistry. After my first semester, I'm not really sure that the "pre-med curriculum" is really much help at all for medical school material.

Regardless, it's great that you're doing well. How's organic lab? Long hours, new stinks you never imagined before? :) Has anyone accidentally mixed acetone and bromine yet?
