Maybe students wearing UCLA or Cal sweaters like college football?

I agree with Prion, it seems like you’re the only one causing trouble here Ron. Its most likely that those sweaters were given before they decided to attend UCSD. I highly doubt they bought those clothes while attending here. I know i wouldnt throw away a perfectly good sweater.

I have to admit that this is a huge pet peeve of mine as well, mostly because it is just so overwhelmingly prevalent…I go NYU and the amount of UPenn/Harvard/Brown gear is ridiculous. I’m not suggesting that someone should give away a perfectly good sweatshirt, but in my opinion wearing paraphernalia from other schools all the time makes one look a bit insecure.

^ you guys don’t even have a real campus to call your own, it’s not like a prefrosh wandering the streets is going to think lack of NYU sweatshirts = lack of NYU spirit.

also, your undergrad-to-postgrad ratio is approximately 1:1 so that’s a major diluting factor for NYU paraphernalia.

I love when people not from NYU say that NYU doesn’t have a “real campus.” From 10-2 every weekday at Washington Square, 90% of the people walking on the sidewalk are obviously NYU students, which gives the whole area a very normal college feel. I have my own problems with the school, which is why I’m applying to transfer, but I assure you that the location is not one of them. We may not have a traditional campus but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Also, since when does having a defined campus = having a ton of school spirit, anyway?

I understand that there are a lot of graduate students here, but I frequently see people (in the dining halls, for instance, or in my classes) that I know are undergrads wearing sweatshirts/shirts from other schools, and they’re usually ranked higher than NYU according to USNWR. So that’s what I was referencing with the insecurity comment.
