In every college movie students are always wearing sweatshirts and hats with their school's name or emblem strewn across it (21, the social network, etc). Does this happen at your school?

at UC Santa Cruz Just about everybody wears slug gear, at least some of the time. Go Banana Slugs!

Yeah. It’s more common to see school gear than not.

Especially if you can get said gear for free.

Yep! We’re very proud of our Gamecocks!

USC has a really big football culture and two recent National Titles in baseball, so it’s pretty much year-round spirit. You can also always find t-shirts around campus for free. Student athletes almost always wear under armor gear.

Too bad our basketball program isn’t as good… It was practically a home game for Kentucky when they came to play at USC. There were more Kentucky fans in the (USC) student section than Gamecock fans. :-/

Athletics are a big deal around Appalachian State, so yeah.

The hoodies and jackets seem to be more common than the t-shirts, despite the high cost.

LOTS of bumper stickers and window decals as well.

Almost all Cornellians love to do this, but I don’t. I know where I go to school and really don’t care about wearing anything with a school insignia.

^lameeeeee

Pretty much everyone at my school does at least occasionally. I mean I have a whole drawer of IU tshirts, not counting sweatpants or my candy stripes. The stuff is free/cheap (B1G2, etc.) and it’s easy to throw on when you don’t feel like wearing normal clothes

Yes, almost everyone at my school wears a T-shirt, sweatshirt, or pants with my school’s name on it. I have a T-shirt stating my school’s name and my major and a sweatshirt that says “UC DAVIS AGGIES”. There’s a lot of Aggie pride at my school.

No because it’s a low tier school that has no unity.

I have a couple of t-shirts that I wear to school. I plan on buying a hoodie and sweats soon too while they’re cheap.

It’s really common. The first few weeks of each semester they try to have something where they give out free shirts, cups, water bottles and the like. A lot of people wear them. When I get a car I want to get license plate covers too from school.

Only if the memorabilia is made up of 100% natural fibers, like cotton or wool. It has to be polyester-free because of flammability issues due to petroleum polymers. The last thing I want is to catch on fire walking to an exam on a hot day.

Yes everybody knows what school they go to obviously, but why not wear school memorabilia… It raises school spirit, so why not

Yes, everyone is either wearing a t-shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants, or jacket with the school’s name or logo. It is very common thing especially since I received around 5-6 free shirts a semester.

Of course… people even wear memorabilia of schools they don’t go to (golly, imagine that!). People wear school gear all the time, whether it’s official logo’d attire, Greek wear, personalized shirts from campus events or whatever. It’s not a sea of school colors if you’re looking at a large group of the student body, that’s a bit exaggerated, but it’s common.

You see Deac stuff all over the place at Wake. Its incredibly common on almost any campus, I would think.

I don’t own a ton. I have a ballcap with the Testudo logo that I wear when my hair grows to a certain length. I have a Maryland athletics shirt that I wear when I work out. And I have a Maryland sweatshirt I wear in the Autumn and Winter. I also have a lot of free t-shirts with something UMD-related on them.

Oh yeah. There’s always free shirts somewhere (all the freshman get a free shirt at orientation, even though those are usually worn as sleep or workout wear) and people buy all sorts of stuff. I have two Bing sweatshirts that I wear pretty often and I have sweatpants too.

Coming from an HBCU, it was VERY common to see people in their Eagle gear. In fact, college apparel is one of the BEST parts of college, especially if you’re school spirited like me.! Just at my HBCU alone, I bought like 2 t-shirts, a pair of sweats, a jacket, a hat, and had things like key chains and a small football with the school’s logo.

I can just imagine how much new school gear I get to buy when I transfer to my new school. We’re even getting a football team in 2013, so you know the school spirit is about to be amplified.!
