Weather in Atlanta in the spring term

Hello,

I was wondering whether any people can tell me how the weather in Atlanta in the spring term(from Jan to May) like. Any chance to wear jeans and t-shirts?

Sorry for being stupid as I come from a place where it is summer all the year around.

Thanks.

It can get cold , October & November this year gave us 20s~30s.
I'd say depending on the year, you'd have to bundle up for January & February...maybe March.
April-May usually rains and is a bit chilly ..but decent.
June through about September is prettttty hot. Sticky, humid, no air, type of hot x.x.

But...it's actually pretty hot by my standards(compared to NY's subzero temps.) for Winter here, 50s~, right now.

So I'd say --if the weather stays like this..maybe t-shirt/jeans but with a light jacket ?

i guess im rezzing this thread, but are there ACs installed in dorms or do we have to bring those big ACs that fit in the window? Im sure its very hot down at Georgia most of the year

all dorms/bldgs are air conditioned.

It is 80% today. Most people have been wearing shorts/jeans and a t-shirt for the past month. I’d say it’s pretty great weather (although this April has had more rain than usual). All buildings and dorms are air-conditioned and they are used to the fullest extent - it can get cold in buildings even when it’s hot outside.

Georgia weather can get crazy. Bring some rain boots and some jackets because it gets pretty unpredictable when spring comes around. Also stock up on some shorts because it can get really REALLY hot.

There are tornadoes in Atlanta…
but spring in Atlanta is really glorious…comes early and stays a long time…with lots of blooming…unlike even up here in VA where it is simply long cold spring mud season, then chill, then a couple of weeks of bloom then summer.
you will see spring clothing dominate starting in April…

Yellow pollen from the pines sent me to an allergist…and it lasts about three weeks annually. Pretty impressive…hope you like yellow.

The dogwoods and the azaleas are very profuse in Atlanta…and people are pretty cheery in that sunshine combined with temperate heat and cool breeze that Atlanta has in spring.

While it is technically true that there are tornadoes in Georgia, I have never been affected by one in the 21 years I’ve lived in Atlanta. Pollen, however… definitely true.

It is not Kansas by any means, but there are tornado warnings at least annually…and I know a few people with moderate home damage from winds on those occasions…certainly did my share of drills for them growing up there.

atlanta spring= SO rough on allergies
