Son needs a Diversity class and would like to take it online while he is home this summer. Can this be done? What are the advantages/disadvantages? Thanks in advance!

I haven’t heard of a totally online class. He’ll need to attend exams still I think, which might be more trouble than it’s worth depending on where you live.

I scanned next summers diversity classes, and didn’t see any that were online. The options are pretty limited.

[Office of the University Registrar](http://registrar.ufl.edu/soc/201006/gened.html#d) has the full list.

Very few classes at UF are entirely online, you could maybe try to do more research about the ones offered but almost everything at least requires you to show up for the tests.

We looked at the courses through this search engine, using Diversity and Web Only checked as parameters: [GatorSchedule.Net .:. Course Search](http://www.gatorschedule.net/index.php?term=summer10)

Then we also looked at the regular UF Schedule of Courses and selected the Correspondence Study Department: [Office of the University Registrar](http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/soc/201006/web/corrstud.htm)

There are several courses meeting various GenEd rules. Are these Correspondence courses allowed while being an otherwise regular full-time student?
