Weber Honors College

I’m really leaning towards going to SDSU’s Weber Honors College and just want to hear some pros and cons of anyone who knows anything about it or has been in it or has a kid who was in it?

I’d love to hear more as well.

Hello! I’m a student in the Weber Honors College and will be serving on its student society exec board for the 2018-2019 academic year. Personally, I love the honors college. It’s a great way to work with students who have diverse perspectives in a creative and unique environment. The greatest thing about Honors, however, is the resources it provides you. Honors student have access to advisors that exclusively help Honors students with their scheduling, study abroad planning, resume development, and more. This gives you a huge leg up because you get to avoid the difficult process of meeting with general academic advisors and having to wait in long lines before registration to get advice.
Some students feel that the honors college is pointless, but usually those students are the ones who don’t take advantage of the resources. As long as you pay attention and use what’s available to you, it’s a great experience.
I hope this helps!

@Tychariken thank you for sharing your perspective. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity. My D is still waiting to hear from SDSU on admission but she is quite hopeful to be accepted to both SDSU and Weber Honors. Have a great weekend.

@Tychariken Hello, I applied to the Weber honors college and recently got a rejection letter although it says I am placed on a waitlist, is this something that is sent to every applicant? Or are my chances of getting in a little bit higher for being on the waitlist? I will be a Freshman student at SDSU for fall 2018. Thank you!
