CC's server is having clock issues, so this post is out of order. StudiousMaximum was the OP, and post #2 is actually the first post of the thread.

Now that the “embargo” has been lifted (12PM on Saturday), we’re free to discuss this Wednesday’s PSAT. Post any questions/answers you can remember here.

Here are some of the questions that are being debated:

Moistened vs. Consumed (I chose moistened)

“continued federal support” vs. “whether federal support should” (I chose the former)

Here are my answers to some of the harder math questions:

I got two no errors for the error identification (terra cotta warriors and “creativity with which they were developed”) and chose “in contrast” for the last question.

As for critical reading, some of the harder sentence completions were “elite…latitude,” “uncorroborated…ephemeral,” and “prescient.”

Consumed.

Whether federal support should (but was a bit iffy)

LOL CB being a ■■■■■. When I bubbled it in, I was thinking of a ■■■■■ face ;D

^ Mind justifying those answers? I don’t think consumed would be a synonym of “watered,” and the paragraph was comparing the “dry, lifeless” valley to the lively, green valley watered by the river. Moistened makes more sense in the context. As for the “whether” choice, it was too wordy, and the other choice was perfectly grammatical.

On the federal support one, the second answer should be “whether art should be continued to be supported federally.”

Answers I can remember:

Critical Reading:
-“elite…latitude”
-“uncorroborated…ephemeral”

-new years resolution wouldn’t change character
-“abandon her childish vocabulary”
-“relief”
-“ancient vocabulary perpetuated in everyday speech”
-blue guy = original
-“rattling chains” I put monkey riding on a tiger but pretty sure the former is correct
-“periphery”

@StudiousMaximus, when I was reading, it was like the fog covered the mountains, and I thought consumed as in figuratively blocked the mountain. IDK /: We had this argument before, and I’m just marking my answer as incorrect

Wait why is the blue guy original? I though it was to show parallel between the art and music. idk if they said anything about original… But I picked the one that compared… CRAP I FORGOT MOST OF MY ANSWERS!

There was a question about jazz/blues that showed the parallel between art and music.
There was a sentence completion about a blues guitarist with I think the answer “imitate” and “an original.”
