Anyone know whether there's anything important going on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday (September 20-22)? I'm in Crown so I move in on the 19th and was hoping to go off and do something during the weekend. But if something important is going on... If it says so somewhere obvious, well, I can be blind sometimes >.>

Orientation week is important - don't go away. Besides the obvious orientation events (tours, socials, placement tests) it's one of the most important times of the year, socially. You'll be meeting people in the dorms, going to campus sponsored dances, etc. I don't know about Crown, but for my orientation at Porter our first core lecture was that Monday night BEFORE other classes began. I know at least a couple other colleges do this as well.

I was also a Porter orientation leader for two years, so I will stress orientation week for all it's worth.

Well according to this handy dandy yellow sheet thing I got, the 1st lecture for the core class is on Wednesday. Also, Fall Orientation is on Tuesday I believe. So do you know if there is anything happening Saturday, Sunday, or Monday?

Man, I didn't get a handout with the events of the welcome week on it.
Could someone send it to me?
Or write it out somehow?
Thanks a bunch!!!

i dunno...i just think that being in a completely new place with completely new people would be good enough to keep me busy for several days. so even if there isnt anything planned, it'll be fun to meet everyone and get comfortable with the campus.

Well it's going to be different for each college. If there's nothing mandatory they can't make you stay, but I'd suggest against it.

i'm going to cowell college, i think we can get in on the 20th... does anybody know something about the week before classes there??

You should get an email about it soon, i got mine yesterday around noon.
