Weekend for Diversity students at ND

So, if I am a minority and I did not get an invitation does that mean I should expect a rejection? Is it possible that I didn’t get an invitation because I had a sibling who had graduated from ND and had attended ND Vision one summer and they figured I was already familiar with ND?

hmm we all seem to have the same question.

To those who got invited, is anyone an Asian and is currently living outside of the U.S.?
does anyone know if ND invites people who live in Asia?

I’m a hispanic that didn’t get invited…any cause for concern?

Only a portion of the racial/ethnic minority accepted students receive an invitation

So, anyone going to the visit in the Houston area?

To those invited, did anyone recieve their itenararies or flight confirmations yet?

No I have not! Have you?

I have not received the itinerary yet, and i am kinda nervous about it

I wouldn’t be too nervous. The team in charge of the weekend is most likely still working the logistics out for all the prospective students. If I’m not mistaken, they usually try to get students from a given area on the same flight and have them bused from Chicago’s airports into South Bend. Here’s the website, to give you a better idea of what the weekend entails: [?Welcome home.?](http://www.nd.edu/~svw/Welcome.html)

I got my flight itinerary in the email today! very excited to go :)

Tortellini: where are you from and where are you flying in?

I’m assuming this must be for EA accepted students because they haven’t sent out the RD decisions yet.

My other question is how much of a focus Asians are as a minority. I see they have Asian recruitment under some of the Admissions counselor responsibilities.

@ notredamebrother:thank you very much for your help
@ carnivore2: I think it is not only for EA accepted students because I received the invitation and applied RD, and have not received an acceptance letter…yet… :)

They have three weekends. The first is for EA prospectives and the later two are for (some) RD prospectives.
From what I have observed, Asians are seen as underrepresented students just as much as other racial and ethnic minorities.

I applied RD and have not received am acceptance letter but have been invited(:

@bluesbrother: No problem. The weekend are usually fun to be a part of. More activities are going on around campus during this time (especially for the larger of the three). For the most part, prospects seem to really enjoy it, as do many of the host students.

i’m a rd applicant (latino) and just received an email today for the diversity weekend (april 14-17) and replied right away, hopefully i can go

What time did you receive this email?

Have any of you guys received your airline tickets for the March 31st through April 1st diversity weekend? I have not, and I must admit that I am getting very nervous!

PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!!
