I noticed my freshmen year i dropped about 8-9 pounds first semester because of the constant walking i had to do. I ate way worse foods but just not as often as all the snacks i eat at the house. My cardio was way better then the way it is now. A combination of christmas break and summer break so far and i've added about 7 pounds back on that i lost. I dont really have any money for the gym or anything. What do you guys do to stay in shape when away from school. I think i'm the reverse though i gain weight at home and loose at shcool.

Do you have any parks in your neighborhood? Walking, jogging, and running are all free and great exercise for maintaining or losing weight.

My father lost 100 pounds in two years just by walking (not running) everyday and cutting bread out of his diet (he never really had a sweet tooth - he just loved bread a lot.)

Portion control, increasing exercise (walking or running or biking), or some combination of both. Weight loss comes from creating a calorie deficit.
