Weight of Interview on application process?

Okay, so i'm one of those students who had a 2.7 GPA in highschool... but im in my second year of college at a community college with a 3.83 GPA now. im a member of phi theta kappa, help with my church, and part of speech club. i had my interview and it was about 45-50 min long, and we got along really well and talked about a lot.. (ive had a lot of interesting things in my life concerning my family and why i am the way i am about "being a strong woman" which my interviewer found interesting). so how much weight does the interview hold on the admissions process? and do i have a chance of getting in? oh.. and im hispanic.. if that makes a difference

anyone, please!?

When it comes to interviews, the most common thing I have heard is that a bad interview won't affect you but a positive one will help you. Wellesley really considers their interviews, at least that was the impression that I got.

meh. i don't know. i never did an interview (i applied EE and didn't realize i could do an interview until it was past the deadline).

Not everyone can have an interview, some can have alum interviews, and others can have on-campus interviews, which means that there's basically no such thing as a standard interview for each candidate. So it wouldn't be entirely fair if Wellesley made it a big factor: what if one person had a great interview with an admissions dean and another person had an OK interview with an alum who'd never done an interview before? I wouldn't stress it. There's plenty of current students on this forum, I think, that got in just fine without an interview.

Especially at a smaller college like Wellesley an interview will definitely help you. Really it's the only way that they get to know you as a real person and not just another applicant other than your essay. If you feel that the interview went well then there is a good chance that your interviewer thought the same and that it should increase your chances. I interviewed in November and all the admissions staff seemed really down to earth and dedicated to putting weight into what they got out of your interview.
