I had a college interview with Middlebury about two months ago-- now I'm waiting to find out whether I got in or not. All this while, I've been itching to know how much they are weighed; if this went well, could it get me in? Or if it didn't go so well, am I definitely out?
Thanks!

It matters very little. Usually, an interview just reaffirms their opinion of the rest of your application.

The majority of the people who interviewed me explicitly stated how little the interview counted for, and that in several scenarios their favorite students were rejected and the ones they wrote the worst reports on were accepted too. So yes, it’s another factor, but it’s insignificant compared to everything else.

The general consensus on this website (whether it’s true or not) is as follows:

A pretty good interview won’t do much
A pretty bad interview won’t do much

An AMAZING interview will help, but not be the most important thing
A TERRIBLE interview will either hurt (if you’re just bad) or screw you over (if you intentionally say/do something horrendous)

it depends on where the interview was. Interviews on campus with an adcom are usually taken seriously. Those in the community with an alum much less so, unless you do something that really messes up your chances.
