I feel like my application is really solid- I've had straight As, taken a ton of AP classes (and received 5s on all exams taken thus far), had lots of leadership positions, and participated in a lot of community service. My test scores, my letters of rec, etc. all are good, but I didn't send my SAT IIs in. I know that they were strongly recommended, but could this actually be a determining factor for admission? Thanks in advance!

^I’m in the same boat. The interesting thing is that this is the first year that Gtown has used the words “strongly recommended” instead of “required”. I’m interested to see how many people took that risk, and if it negatively impacted our chances. Oh well, guess we’ll know tomorrow lol. :)

One of Georgetown’s admissions officers came to my school to talk with interested students in the Fall. I asked him about the importance of SAT II’s, and why they strongly recommend 3 SAT II’s instead of the normal 2, and he said that Georgetown has found through studies of some sort that SAT II’s are the most predictive/indicative of academic success and aptitude in college–basically they’re really important to Georgetown and he said to send as many SAT II scores as you had. He also said that Georgetown favors the SAT I over the ACT. I’m sorry to build on your anxiety but there’s nothing to be done now except relax and hope for the best! Good luck!

I was just accepted with 2 SAT Subject Tests. I scored 670 on Math II and 690 on Bio M. So, they don’t seem to matter much.

Also, I’m not a URM or anything.

some1 got in w/o any sat 2 subjects if you check the decision threads :O, so i guess if ye have a really all well rounded app w/o sat 2s u can get in :)

I actually got in! So, I guess the subject tests really aren’t necessary, as long as the rest of your application is really strong!
